The average age of Americans continues to increase. This is especially true in the Southeastern states, where the mild climate and lower costs of living bring many here to spend their retirement. It is estimated that as many as 43 percent of elderly adults in the U.S. are “high need” – meaning they have multiple chronic conditions or trouble performing activities of daily living. Aging Life Care Professionals®/geriatric care managers exist to help these individuals with the challenges of aging. Our mission is to help older adults who live in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee get the resources they need to continue leading lives of purpose, dignity, and joy.
By becoming a member of the Aging Life Care Association® you have the resources of the association at your disposal, including a listing on their “Find an aging life care expert” website page, directing people looking for services in your area directly to you. You’ll be able to network with other members and receive regular information on the latest trends in the industry, best practices, case studies and ways to grow your business. You will also be able to participate in regional activities as a part of the Southeast Chapter.
The best way to increase connectivity and visibility in your community is through one of our local units. You will network with other professionals, referral sources and potential clients as you promote the value of working with an Aging Life Care Professional®. The Southeast Chapter has 10 unit locations:
Greenville, South Carolina
Charlotte, North Carolina
Asheville, North Carolina
Raleigh, North Carolina
Sandhills, North Carolina
Charleston, South Carolina
Units typically gather monthly or quarterly to discuss area events, participate in community education, and learn about local resources. Each unit has a customized display that can be used when promoting the chapter. Each unit can request an ALCA toolkit full of promotional materials.
The units serve as the foundation of our chapter. Our best accomplishments have come out of active units and strong unit leadership. We encourage every member to get involved.
